Feasibility Assessments

In order to determine the feasibility of your hospital acquiring a physician practice, it is necessary to assess the merits of the proposed hospital-physician integration scenario. As part of this feasibility assessment, MedGroup Solutions can manage you through the following issues and areas that need to be addressed in this phase:

  • Collect background information and conduct individual hospital and physician interviews to assess goals, issues, concerns and “deal breakers” related to hospital-physician integration (e.g., contracting, governance, compensation/overhead and benefits, practice autonomy, etc).
  • Assess and provide candid feedback and readout of the feasibility of integration (given the hospital and physician goals and current status of each entity).
  • Hospital/physicians use the information from the feasibility assessment to determine whether to proceed to the planning and physician organization formation phase.

At the conclusion of the Feasibility Assessment, MedGroup Solutions will summarize and present individual and joint goals, issues, concerns and potential barriers as identified in interviews for decision-making. If the feasibility has determined the hospital and physician goals are aligned, and there is significant benefit to both parties in proceeding with the integration, MedGroup Solutions will then move forward with the Planning and Physician Organization Formation phase.
